This is the story of how Koudai Shigemasa, Jr. and his wife met. The story is set on 30 years before the film timeline.
Fukamaru Yuuko (Komatsu Nana) is a fourth year student in the prestigious private university. She meets Koudai Shigemasa/Masao (Mamiya Shotaro) who transferred from Oxford. One day, Nao--Yuuko's best friend, and Masao are dating. However, Masao has affair and Yuuko helps her best friend to reunite them. One week later, the two break up and Masao decides to confess his feelings to Yuuko.
Momoko Hasegawa works at a funeral home with mop in hand. She also possesses the ability to travel back in time whenever she makes physical contact with the belongings of a deceased person with unfinished business in life. She then has the chance to prevent the death of the would-be deceased.
Daisuke Nagasato (Shingo Katori) is 39-years-old, single and works at a stationary maker. He enjoys his single life. One the day he moves to his new apartment, he meets his neighbour Hanako Kumagai (Juri Ueno) for the first time due to an unpleasant situation. Hanako is 32-years-old and single. She is also an OL and a divorcee.
